“New World Cartographies: Mapping America, 1500-1776” is a symposium taking place on November 2-3 at the American Museum in Britain in Bath; co-sponsored by the museum and Oxford’s Rothermere American Institute, it “will focus on cartographic representations (and misrepresentations) of America before the Declaration of Independence in 1776 which gave rise to the present-day United States.” RAI conference page; conference poster (PDF).
